Datuk Mohamed Azahari Kamil

Datuk Mohamed AzahariKamil is currently the Group Managing Director of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd.A position he has held since August 2017. Prior to that he served as the Group President of SEGI International Berhad from January 2016. He also served as Asian Finance Bank’s CEO from August 2008 until his retirement in December 2015, becoming the first Malaysian to be appointed CEO of a foreign Islamic Bank.

He started his career with the Malaysian French Bank in 1984 as a Credit and Marketing Officer, and for the next 10 years has accumulated experiences in Corporate Finance, Business Development, Institutional Dealing and Investment Management.

In November 1994, he established JMF Asset Management SdnBhd assuming the role of Managing Director. In September 2005, Amanah Raya Berhad acquired 70% of JMF Asset Management and Datuk Mohamed Azahari was appointed Managing Director of the newly-formed entity AmanahRaya-JMF Asset Management SdnBhd where he oversees investments in Equity, Bond, Real Estate and Private Equity. He was instrumental in the listing of AmanahRaya REIT in 2007.In June 2008, Datuk Mohamed Azahari took on the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AmanahRaya Investment Bank Ltd, Labuan.He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Sapura Technology Bhd, Ayer Hitam Tin Dredging Malaysia Bhd, and PA Resources Bhd.

Datuk Mohamed Azahari graduated from InstitutTeknologi Mara (UiTM) in Shah Alam with a Diploma in Banking in 1980 and subsequently obtained his BBA (Finance) from the Western Michigan University in 1982. He obtained his MBA (Finance) from the Central Michigan University in 1984. He also undertook leadership programs in Berkley University and Harvard University.
