Dr Abdul Fatah was the Director of Sabah’s Biodiversity Centre (“SaBC”) under the State Government of Sabah. He was tasked with leading SaBC  in its promotion, development and nurturing of biodiversity and conservation issues as well as assisting in the commercialization of Sabah’s biotechnology related projects. He led SaBC for 10 years until his retirement in January 2018.

Prior to this, he was the Head of the Quality Management Unit under the Sabah State Secretary Office from 2007-2008 as well as the Head of Policy and Commercialization, which is a Division of Sabah’s Science and Technology Unit for 5 years between 1998-2002.

He holds a PhD in Regional Innovation System from the University of Malaya. He has written various research paper and the latest paper in 2015 was titled “Enhancing Value of Sabah’s Biological Resources for Commercialization”.
